Information concerning the way we were formed and the history

We were formed in June 2003, the majority of our members were the user group of another charity who had an out-reach branch in Wigan, in December 2003 they decided to close the branch and vacate the premises. With a desire to continue, a number of the members of the user group decided to form their own MS charity, and they have succeeded, providing therapies such as Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Yoga, and Indian Head Massage, and also Reiki. We started the work of the charity on the 5th of January 2004 in Sunshine House Community Centre, but unfortunately we  had to relocate to the Ince Community Centre from the 1st August 2005 providing therapies three times a week i.e Monday Wednesday and Thursday in the morning, at the same time introducing Hopi Ear candles as an extra therapy for our users.

Although the therapies are important we feel the support and social interaction aspect of the charity is vital to enable people to build the confidence to get on with life with MS. We endeavour to find out any information they require, or if they have any concerns we will try to point them in the right direction to the people who can help, quite often it is simply talking amongst like-minded people that allays their fears, and one of the most important aspects of the charity is humour, we will if we can, send you home with a smile on your face.

We have relocated to Marsh Green Comunity Centre as and from the 1st September 2010 to offer a dedicated area for the therapies and the opportunity for the charity to generate revenue and expand to fulfill the aims of our charity.
